Did you ever try to take an auto portrait? In a dark? While skiing? Catching your face AND swirls of light in the background?
I did.
It was fun but real hard thing to do. I went night skiing on Snoqualmie today, and decided to take a picture of me while catching the fact I'm skiing and on the move. My nice freeze proof camera doesn't have any manual settings but I used a night portrait mode. It turns on the flash, but keeps the shutter open for a while to catch the night ambiance as well. This is exactly what I meant, but try skiing down while holding the camera in one hand, squeezing the trigger with gloved hand, and aiming to get you, poles in the other hand, background lights, and if possible - your skis. That last part was theoretically possible if I take a pic while on a steep hill, where all of me and the background would be in the frame. As you can see - that part didn't work as imagined, but other did.
On a separate note, it was funny noticing reactions of other skiers watching an idiot with a camera and flashing twice before each turn. Mountain was mostly empty, so it was not dangerous, but I heard word "paparazzi" behind me, as well as people calling each other to point at me. Jealousy.
