How do you recognize a friend?
How often did you look at somebody, not sure if you met them before or what their name is?
Or got greeted by somebody you have no recollection of whatsoever?
In dogs' world things are much simpler. Get the leg up, mark a friend, and until next bath they'll be marked as your friends.
Now you know why dogs react to the bath like you would to somebody who wants to erase all your contacts from the phone.
