Game of Trees
Once upon a time there was a mighty tree growing in one of the gardens surrounding the castle Jurić. It grew in two directions, shading their home and protecting it from curious eyes of the public view. It grew proud and big. Too big for its branches, as it turns out. The castle, once considered massive, now felt small and threatened by this huge double tree. Rumors are stronger than swords, so the silent word came that this tree is plotting with windstorm to attack the castle at the first chance it gets. This was an old story, but resurrected again with such a force, that even the king had to concede the point or suffer the terrible consequences in the unlikely case that their plan comes to fruition. Fearless soldiers of the Axe Gang were called to defend the territory and the tree was slain before the wind could come to its help. This would be the end of this story, but our king was as wise as good looking and knew that there should be a warning against all that harbor treacherous designs against his realm. He decreed that a sign would be made to honor the good service of the tree while it lived, praise the battle of axes, and serve as a symbol of what happens to those that dare to challenge the peace in his kingdom. Not much was left from the once mighty tree, but a few pieces were preserved to be used for this purpose. For a long time, best designers, woodcarvers and artisans in the whole kingdom were working hard to make a shiny symbol of the proud tree’s history. A sculpture was carved, preserving the character of the tree that served well for decades, indelible stain of treacherous thoughts was exposed, and seven coats were applied to finish as a reminder - one for each sin. Finally, the artwork was put to good use holding the knowledge and wisdom when needed, and looking pretty when not. It will be a reminder that we all live as long as we are remembered, and those memories will be judged by the court of time much better and honest than any of our peers could do.

Старо и велико дрво, које је расло испред куће, смо посекли још пре пар месеци, али сам најзад стигао да искористим један од комада који је остао и направим столић. Није лоше испао. Најбољи столић који сам икада направио. :)
