Bread Machine

In this fast pace of life, baking and cooking are often reduced to microwavable items. My favorite mother in law is here for a few more days, and since I was working from home today, I got a chance to capture her in her element while preparing the dough for dinner rolls.

Details:
  • If you are observant, you may notice the measuring cup in her left hand, but did you realize that the real measuring happens in her right hand? Measuring cup is just used as a spoon, but she is actually adding a 'handful' of flour to the mix.
  • Even those of you who do not think that opening a can by yourself counts as a home made meal, may think of this photo as part of the 'making it from the scratch' process. Again, the trick is in knowing the main actor - my mother in law. This flour is coming from the bottom of the 44 pound bag of flour we got for her when she came. In her book, from scratch would mean that flour is made from wheat that grew on her land. Store bought flour is just not same. :)
