San Diego Zoo Safari Park

Once upon a time,
Half a century ago,
This child's pastime,
Was mapping a trip to go.

It was a world away,
A dream of mine,
Not real, just a play,
Exercise for a mind.

San Diego Zoo!
I must visit it, if I can!
Not forgotten, as I grew,
Forever an S.D.Zoo fan.

Half way from now,
I brought my kids and wife,
Even my Mom, somehow,
Trip was hard for us five.

Children were small,
Adults were tired,
I wanted to see all,
Nobody else was inspired.

Today was a different story,
I went alone, but not a Zoo.
To the Safari Park territory,
Was the best trip to do.

I was that dreamer-kid again,
In front of a map on the wall,
Deciding what to see and when,
It was up to me - my call.

Don't ever forget your dreams,
Don't suffocate your inner child,
Even if you don't have means,
Imagination is meant to run wild.
