Esma Redžepova, Macedonian Queen of Gypsies, came to Seattle and gave us an amazing concert.
First, we all warmed up with a bit of dancing, and when Esma and her band came, we were all ready for this listening, singing and dancing extravaganza where we all performed, because gypsy music can't be just sung for an audience. It has to be felt, and danced, and sweated out to properly enjoy it. And we all did.
Today, all my coworkers in the hearing distance of my loudspeakers will have a chance to enjoy that same music or close their doors. :)
