Despite common opinion that Australia is a big, hot desert, with no people and way too many poisonous species per capita, first impressions were not so impressive. KFC, McDonald's & Subway is something I left at home. I expected to see rough country, kangaroos on the road, and people dressed as Crocodile Dundee. I do not visit these eateries in the US either, and have no intention on changing those habits while on this continent. Give me a kangaroo steak mate! Forget about chicken!
